Hi Matt- Hopefully you saw my note earlier. There was a miscommunication with the venue about the pre-sale. I'll email you a link and access code tomorrow. (Thursday) Thanks again for your patience.
Indeed, it would. I could see you treating it sort of like Dylan‘s band supported him on his most recent original album, or I could see you doing something completely different. I heard from Ryan Hotchkiss that you’re getting close to putting the finishing touches on your new record. Around mid-July, I’m hoping to be done with the musical part of a new record I’m doing with Martin producing. I’m pretty excited about how it’s taking shape. I’d love to sit down with you sometime over a coffee or tea and just chew the fat after we’re both done with those projects. Be well my friend.
Definitely channeling Dylan on the first one!!! The 2nd take had me chair dancing ... heard a hint of Petty in there...both so fun, thanks for sharing! The old influence thing-hard to escape yet still all you!
Hi Dylan. Yep... Not sure if Buckhorn is around anymore. Quit drinking many moons ago. But back in the day it was among the cheapest beer you could find.
Oh my, isn't that a tasty cut! Took a great song and tightened it up a bit for a GREAT rendition. Ahh, you and The Sinners...what a great combo. Thanks for this!
Thanks, Dan. I'm glad you dig it. I had no intention of sharing this when I recorded it... was just having fun. It's great to have this Substack as a place where I can release bits and bobs like this.
Hi Brian- Tour poster will be up on Bandcamp store next week. And as a paid subscriber, you'll get a discount. I'll send out a post when it is available.
I was listening to Whiskeytown’s Strsnger’s Almanac, The song Houses on the Hill. It has some a beautiful flow with its lyrics like your new song. Not easy to find cadences that just fit so well and say so much.
The new phones are really pretty decent. I just use my stock phone to record 90% of what I put on Substack. I have an iPhone 14 and it does a decent job I think.
Thanks, Jon. It was fun to play and sing it that way. I had no intention of this seeing the light of day, but when I listened back I thought, "what the heck... why not share it with my Substack subscribers?" Glad you dig it.
Thank you! My wife and I are so excited that you’re coming within driving distance of us! Can’t wait to see your show

Maybe I’ve become a grateful DrogeHead! Backstepping into the rock and roll!
This was awesome. I really like your treatment of that.
Thanks Gregg- It would be interesting to see what a band would do with that feel.

Brakeman has always been one of my fav's of yours Pete!!
Thanks, Stephanie- Me too... also fun to bust that song out.

Hi Connie- It was fun getting loose with the melody and phrasing on that rehearsal tape. Thanks for listening!
Love it! A case of Buckhorn Beer!

Got my tickets for DC. Can't wait!
Hi Jacob- Sweet! It'll be here before we know it!

See you in Portland! Glad you're coming down!
Can’t wait to listen to this when I get off work!! I also would love to buy that tour poster!

Hope you dig the version of 'Brakeman.'
Cool version. Very warm.
Thanks, Billy. No mix or anything. Just straight off the phone. Sounds pretty darn good to me.
