I also want to give props for Fading Fast and Only Eyes For You. Listened to those today while mowing they are both superb!!! I wish you had a dollar for every time I listen and listened to you while mowing over the past....19 years.
This album is still in my daily music rotation. I was fortunate enough to see you guys open for the Jayhawks at the Fillmore back in 2003 because my wife got me tickets for my birthday. Absolutely loved that show and the 5 hour drive home that night just flew by. These stories about the group are bringing back great memories. Thanks!
Once again this kind of musing on the past and those heady times (and the mere mention of the name "Donny Ienner") sends me into a tailspin of my own faded postcards from that era of grit and glitter. Donny used to make a game out of tickling me behind my back every time we did a photo together. Weird dude.
If you started your own Substack, I would sign up to read your "faded postcards" with great enthusiasm. I've heard many of your stories around the fire pit that are fit to print.
I never received the tickle treatment from Ienner. Maybe he saved that for his multi-platinum artists?
I'm happy to share the demos. "Effortless" is a high compliment in my book. While there was work involved in finding our parts, for the most part they came fast.
My god! That Blue as You is so gorgeous!!

I really am enjoying the peek into the "sausage making." Thanks so much!
Thanks! Glad you are enjoying it. I am too!
Great read and love hearing the demos. I for one would also LOVE to hear the "Carry On" cover. I bet the harmonies are killer.
I don't have the rights to post the "Carry On" demo. Wish I did. It sounds pretty amazing if I do say so myself... and I do.
I love the idea of Brendan and Nick chartering a jet with a few mikes in tow. Like carrying the nuclear football across the country.
Thanks for the demos! You guys make it sound so effortless.
