Fun song. I didn't even think about the drum machine. It kind of makes me think about a song like Paul Westerberg's Black Eyed Susan where I wouldn't change a thing about it. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Chris! In addition to the gear I also love getting substack comments so maybe I should amend the song "I'm only in it for the gear and the comments just the one I got from my good bud Chris." Might be too many syllables though.
Brilliantly done. I agree with you that it wouldn’t have blended in with Spacey album then but it would have now. Not sure why, maybe because of hearing more of your catalog or because of hearing your insights to it. Thank you for another amazing track and the distortion somehow works for me.
Killer, you should have included it as a bonus track on that album! 1) dig the obligatory tissue on said NS10, and 2) I spent the whole listen cringing at the sound of my distorted left speaker, knowing it wasn't.
Nifty little ditty. Perhaps it is because you mentioned him, but this sort of reminds me of a John Mayer tune in a few aspects. I had forgotten the Thorns had done shows with him. I so love that you have photos of the world in those days. Be well Pete!
Love this one.
I like it a lot!

Thanks, Hawk 'n' Roll!!!

Thanks, Buzzy! I love me some Paul Westerberg. His record 'Stereo' ranks up there with my all-time faves.
Me too. Great record and the peak of his basement days.
dig the groove and the honest gear fetish shout out!

It will work! Just cram it all in there like Eminem!
Reminds me a little JJ Cale. Laid back band bluesy
Thanks, Bill! JJ Cale is one of my all-time favorite artists!

Thanks, Brian. The distortion works for me too!

HI Steve! 1) can't recall where I learned the tissue trick. 2) it does sound like a busted speaker.

Thanks, Jeff. Yeah... we did a short tour with him. Was a trip to see how young his audience was at that time.
My son and his friends are big fans. I guess I'll consider myself the "vintage" guy. Or "classic" maybe. Ok. Old. There. I said it.
That's cool that you son and his friends are fans. Love hearing that!
Let's go with "vintage." :)
Reminds me of a funky Tony Joe White track
I'll take that as a high compliment, Brian!!!
