Thanks for sharing all this historical content. Great to have all this background to go along with your phenomenal catalog. Nile Rodgers is a neighbor of mine. Aside from being music royalty, he’s a really great person, and generous with his time. Spent an hour with him at his CT home last year. He shared amazing stories about working with Bowie, Madonna, B52’s, Billy Idol and others. So cool you got to meet him. On another note, I’ll be looking for your album on record store day! Can’t wait! Thanks again for everything you’re sharing!
I'm glad to hear you are enjoying what I'm sharing. It's fun to revisit the old scrapbooks and see what I recall from those heady times. Nile was super sweet. An instantly likable guy. That's cool that he regaled you with his amazing stories.
Great read Pete. I'm learning something new every week. I tried to fine the family in the Penn Station pic. I knew if I could spot Dolf, I'd be in luck but no luck. I remember it was a great gig, and the band sounded awesome. See you next month.
Hi Steve-O- That's right! Dolf was at that gig. I remember when I was signing autographs at the merch table after the show someone recognized him from a speaking engagement he gave at their college and asked for his autograph too!
There was a rock station (WQRK)from Canton, Ohio that played a song called If You Don’t Love Me and I thought it was the most beautiful/sweet romantic song ever. After ordering it from the local record store I worked at in the past, I fell in love with the cd.
Then in the following months driving to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to see my girlfriend at the time who attended the art institute, I got to hear Northern Bound Train a few times from the Pittsburgh station WDVE.
What a great narrative slice of what is rapidly becoming ancient history! Makes me want to write a book. Makes me want to read a book that you have written actually!!
Hi Chris- Love Songs Etc is serving as a mini-memoir of sorts. I'm enjoying looking back. But most excited about the Now. I have "Nowstalgia for the now." (A great song! But you know that... you wrote it!)
I would have included your name in the caption but I could not for the life of me recall your last name! Very sorry about that!
I'll update the post and add your name to the caption now.
I'm not sure where this breakdown happened. I do recall we blew a tire out inside a tunnel once while I was driving. I think we were on our way to Virginia Beach or someplace like that.
Anyway... yes... lots of fond memories. Nice to hear from you... I hope all is well.
Nice to hear from you! I'm doing well, raising three kids & still recording and mixing music. From time to time you can find me out mixing FOH for Rosanne Cash & John Leventhal. Hit me up if you ever wind up in Philly area.
Hey Pete! Funny, I made it into the last picture, I forget where we broke down? I was only with you guys for a short few months, but many great memories. - Mike Comstock

Great times, memories and songs.
Hi Brian- What a blessing it was to have the support of radio. Especially back in those days when radio (and MTV) were so influential!

This brings a tear to my eye. So many great memories. Thanks for the Aladdin nod ❤️
