GIG REMINDER! Tickets are on sale for my upcoming show at Vashon Center for the Arts on 3/29/25. Elaine Summers and I will be playing a bunch of songs from Necktie Second and debuting tunes from my forthcoming album, Fade Away Blue. Plus, a super special guest will be sitting in on a few numbers.
Necktie Second (Deluxe)
This is the secret project I’ve alluded to in previous posts.
The fine folks at Record Store Day like to keep their list under wraps until they announce, so I’ve had to keep this news on the down low.
But now I can finally let the cat out of the bag.
Thanks to Vinyl Voice Editions at Alliance Entertainment and Gene Zacharewicz, my debut album, Necktie Second, is being released on vinyl for the very first time on April 12 as a part of Record Store Day 2025!
And it’s getting the deluxe treatment!
2 LPs on translucent vinyl in a gatefold jacket!
100% analog, baby! The original album and studio outtakes were mastered for vinyl straight from the 1/2” analog masters by Chris Bellman!
Two studio outtakes from the original sessions!
Five newly recorded acoustic renditions! (Two featuring Peter Stroud! Four with Elaine Summers! Co-mixed by Martin Feveyear!)
That’s seven bonus tracks in total… you do the math!
Features an alternate cover photo from the original shoot by Lance Mercer!
Lance also provided a photo for the inner gatefold featuring the killer band that graces the album: Robert Cooper (Bass), Gregg Williams (Drums), and Elaine Summers (Backing vocals and cowbell.) “I’ve got a fever!”
Back cover photo by Karen Moskowitz!
Necktie Second (Deluxe) is a “Record Store Day Exclusive” in both the U.S. and the U.K. This means it will be physically released only at indie record stores.
That said, stores in the U.S. may choose to sell RSD releases online beginning on April 13. So, if you can’t make it in person, you may still be able to pick up a copy.
This year’s list of RSD exclusives—and firsts—is something to behold. There are so many great artists and titles I don’t know where to begin. You have to see for yourself. For more about RSD and to locate a participating store, visit their website here.
Last year, to celebrate the album’s 30th anniversary, I shared the following posts:
NECKTIE SECOND 01 - My Debut Turns 30
NECKTIE SECOND 02 - Recording Pt. 1
NECKTIE SECOND 03 - Recording Pt. 2
NECKTIE SECOND 04 - Recording Pt. 3
Coming soon to Love Songs Etc, a multi-part series recounting highlights from the whirlwind year and a half that followed the album’s release. Stay tuned to this space for that.
I’ve been asked countless times over the years about when Necktie Second would be available on vinyl. I can’t tell you how excited I am to finally have an answer.
Peace & Love Songs,
Pete
Hell yeah, PD!
Can’t wait for the show, Pete! ❤️
